90's Ambrosio rims, Chorus hubs and 8spd cassette, Deda tyres, 1875g;
modern Mavic Open Pro, Ambrosio hubs and 10spd Centaur cassette, Deda tyres, 1460g;
Pity it doesn't make much difference in performance.

you 'll be amazed if you keeping time on climbs...
I had campy omega V tubulars (36-36) and change them with mavic Mach3 (32-36).
Almost 3.5min less on 11km climbing 7% to 12% pitch... -

Rotational weight has a huge effect on acceleration and climbing.
The modern machined braking surface will improve the stopping power of the brake dramaticlly.
Other than that no differance.

I think the vital piece of missing info there is that Ed isn't fit enough for it make a difference. Stop eating chips and pizza everyday!

I know the braking and rotational weight difference, what I mean is that I doubt my cadence will change in regards.

over 3/4's of a kilo will make you pull away a bit quicker

But the 10sp block over 8sp will have an effect on this. It's also not all about cadence*.

My latest project, nearly finished. I still have to adjust the mudguard, fit pedals and inflate the tyres. It will sport a front brake and a Carradice Camper Long Flap for touring later this summer.

People, what do you think of this? i mentioned earlier i was doing a conversion to a single speed and now im thinking of making it fixed so i was looking at budget wheels. Will it be alot easier for me to align the chainline if i get a track wheel? its not a track bike so i imagine ill still have too use spacers or some such device? sorry if these questions seem ridiculous, i've read so much information over the last few days my mind boggles.

I'm going to do that with all the component of the Colnago, partly because I'm interesting to see how technology and material have move on since the 90's,

Don't worry 'Skully' the wicked Triumph head badge was very very carefully removed with hairdryer and gentle persuasion, and has safe place on sticker backing until the build is done and then its back in pride of place, and not trashed, although the foil type TT decal were all scuffed to buggery so got binned on the stripping down.....
Fear not !!!
