  • Sorry...I thought this was the sofa porn thread...

  • I commute on my Open Corsa Evos. Because I'm worth it.

Looks like a clown has just jizzed all over your bean bag

  • Ed I'll send you a pic of the dint I went over in my most recent split. Given the first time was a HUGE pothole, which is why I went with them again. BEnefit of the doubt like.

Still, I think they're pretty shit.

well, hitting a pothole with full force would be enough for the rims to 'cut' the tyre (beside getting the inner tube pinched in the process) causing it to split, at least that how my tyres got ruined in the first place.

his description match what happen to my tyres.

  • Did you claim off the council or not?

  • insurance, I'm stil waiting for council...

  • oh and I think they're shit compared with the 1,000's miles I've ran on the Spec mondo's I got 18 months ago... just to put it all in perspective.

  • Well I had shit experience with Mondos when they came fitted with my Spec Allez...

I've got cut to fuck Spesh Mondo on the front of my Condor taken off the S-Works (new in early 2008) and they rock. They are so trashed with so many bits missing they have no right to still be inflated but they are.

I've still run far more miles on Rubino Pro (like the 50mi TT I'll be doing tomorrow) so I know what I'm talking about when I say they are totally fine race/training tyre.

  • Ben, remember where we live? London.

Have you ever gone a day not seeing any broken glass/item on the side of the road?

Puncture are inevitable, sometime you get some after you brought your tyres, sometime after a years or two.

Do I declare that my Continental Ultra Sport tyres to be puncture-proof after ridden 6 months in winter not getting a puncture? no, I'm simply lucky that nothing has pierced the tyre.

  • Ed. Punture's are inevitable and I patch em up and get on with it. However £20 for a new tyre is a little more irritating... if I could patch em up I wouldn't complain either.

  • and hippy; I'm sure you TT around the sun every weekend on Rubinos and that I'm just the unlucky dick that has a bad experience. Ah well, conti's for me.

  • Yep.. another 160k today including 80k of TT on Rubino Pro. Problems: 0.

  • temporarily f*xed with a 5 EUro note and some gaffer tape :S

  • Another +1 for rubinos(pro and basic) being awesome. Had them previously with no problems, my girlfriend has them on her road bike with no problems as well. Not quite Hippy milage granted but they've done us proud.
Someone in a mates building threw out a pair of unused Rubino intrepid prb(whatever the fuck they are) recently, got one on the back and it's a fine tyre indeed, I don't skid that much but when I do they grip nicely and shrug off speed smoothly. No problems in the wet either.

In 5 years i've had one puncture and that was on a durano(basic, not plus). I find not smashing my bike into potholes/glass/curbs/inflating just past max psi does the trick ;)

  • I can't believe I posted that much porn and no one said a word.

Do all of you have me on ignore or something?

  • No. We own it all already. Old hat I'm afraid. It's all about light socket porn these days.

  • Is this the Brooks version?
