at uni i put on weight even though i was going to the gym 4 times a week for 2 hours. left uni, got a job and gave up wheat. being on the go all day, plus having what you can eat limited (its not the lack of wheat so much as the lack of options on the high street for lunch! i ended up making salads with rice/quinoa to fill me up and keep me going) meant i lost a stone pretty quickly. summer is a good time to get going and get in the habit (because that is partly what healthy eating is) because when it's hot you are less hungry.
and give up alcohol. a friend of mine gave it up 4 months ago and he has lost 3 stone. simply through not drinking.
also, i was doing military fitness 3 times a week 2 years ago, and i was ridiculously slim, fit and strong. i miss it. it get's addictive... http://www.britmilfit.com/
