And thank you to who ever gave me an orange lolly, instant rejuvenation.

Are there enough rides/events, etc that we can have a women's sub forum?

Ah, I don't mind, I don't follow in the slightest and am giving Ghana their due! I'm an equal opportunity cheerer b/c I just cheer any playing that looks flashy/excellent.

This was such a difficult day! And so awesome! I'm glad my fantastic husband made me those sandwiches (peanut butter, banana and honey for the win!) or I would have been in trouble!
Do I still win the award for most food brought?
Everyone else has said everything that's awesome, so I will just concur on all points and say that next time we go EVERYONE must have a map, we don't want to lose people again!!
Hugs to all and am well up for a Cambridge ride. No hills next time! Or, at least, I need to get my Somec going.
OK, I'm getting a massage now. Nyah!

Good morning one and all. +1 to everything already posted re yesterday. Great ride, lovely people despite the mechanicals and the hills.
My body is in revolt so I am moving around very slowly but hoping to get out for a short ride during THE GAME later.
I learnt a few things yesterday:
- Travelling light is a worthy objective
- The P* fairy visits when she pleases
- My legs are stronger than I realised, hill failures excepted
- Long rides = more food!
- Another bike to be had
- Downhill is worth the pain and effort
- Ditchling is to be walked or driven. Not attempting to ride it. Ever.
I'll put up the few pics I took later today or in the week.
Many, many thanks to VeeVee and the other lady who helped me with my p* problems.Enjoy Sunday everyone. I hope to see you again.
PS: What time is the Monday drinks at Souths? I might, possibly, have £5 left to my name for a Guinness :-)

yes
and yes - just bought a Garmin after yesterday's navigational FAIL

Garmin is such a good plan, but for next time I'm going to experiment with taping the directions to my bike frame. A mixte provides a rather good platform for it after all.
Definitely up for a Cambridge jaunt.
There was also talk of camping. I have a voucher for millets and would like an excuse to buy a tent :)
I feel surprisingly fresh today. Hungry, but fresh. Obviously didn't work hard enough!

Charlotte, you could try one of these:

There are other models available, but I've used this one for years with great satisfaction. Definitely recommended if you're keen to do more longer rides.

A few pics form my phone
http://www.flickr.com/photos/clefty/sets/72157624243297201/I'm feeling pretty fresh today, and MOC and I are off for a swim at Tooting Lido, exactly at the same time as the England v Germany kickoff - so hopefully it will be empty!
I concur. total WIN of a day
