I rode 42 - 15 and 48 - 17 and 48 - 18 was my favourite is 48 - 18, but I can't tell you whats best for you. you could buy a range of cogs and try, but basically most common I think is around 75gear". so if you got a 48t chainring I'd try 17-18-18 cog. However some people such as rob have 84gear" so you muight also want to try 15-16, but I wouldn't consider it. mabye this is more useful than my other comments, but no one can tell you what is best for you, because it varies a lot.
