I went through all of this when I got mine. Asked for the canti-version fork but they messed up the order and I didn't want to wait... I think unless you take drastic (ie. welding) measures you'll be riding brakeless for a bit. Didn't Scott get canti-mounts welded to his Gangsta-'tourer'?
I asked about disc brakes ages ago when the Gangsta was first made, they were looking into it but apparently stopped testing as the forks were breaking.
Headset is Brooklyn's own... have one on the SR-6 too, has held up OK so far.
welding is drastic, more inclined to get the new fork but i'll keep it brakeless for now. Do you know if there are any issues using the sram omnium track crankset on the gangsta? i've read it sometimes doesn't clear the rear stays on some frames.
