• God how I wish I could turn back time to before I bought this thing.

I have had the Xena for about a month and although it has worked as intended in terms of its lock/alarm function the keys are quite flimsy. A quick look at them next to, say, a kryptonite key should convince anyone of that. This morning the key broke inside the lock!!

I now have a bike that I cannot move anywhere and any attempt to fiddle with the busted lock sends the alarm blaring. I've found that pressing a towel towards the Xena muffles the sound quite well (so there goes the safety aspect of it), but of course it is impossible to get anything done as I only get a second of two of fiddling before the alarm is off for the umpteenth time.

I've tried getting the broken bit of key out with pliers and tweezers with little luck. And with the alarm going whenever I touch the bike it is not realistic that I will carry it on my arm and bring it to a lock smith for example. If one of the Kryptonites had acted up I guess I'd resort to patiently hacksawing the thing off, but using the hacksaw where I have attached the Xena can do quite a bit of damage to other bike parts.
My concern about the alarm going off is not only about my own ears, but the fact that I've got my bike inbetween blocks of flats and I am already pissing off my neighbours royally.

What the hell do I do now?
