I thought they were those wood effect Velocities, but now what I thought was a narrow black tyre on a Deep V looks like a fat gumwall on a low profile rim, I'm confused, but I still quite like the bike. Shurely not real wooden rims though, they are both rare and expensive.

I wouldn't imagine that painted aluminium would take much braking before it became plain old aluminium again.

Nothing funny about scraper bikes. I saw a quite poignant documentary on it recently, will try to find the link. It's actually doing a lot of good for young kids in a troubled area, getting them into bikes and out of gangs. Yeah, they look a little odd, but think long and hard before having a pop at an insular community that spends all their time making silly-looking (to some) bikes. People in glass houses...
