  • Not sure if people are talking at crossed purposes but the TdF incident was a case of him being robbed I think by a poor decision (joking aside I don't actually think it was Lance Armstrong with mini invisible helicopters - that only happened when David Millar broke away almost to victory the same year but his chain came off).

A lot of pros and commentators have said it was a poor decision - it only becomes apparent when you view it from above. Hushovd was coming in Cav's right -from behind- into a rapidly closing space. Cav held his line - went in straight as a die.

This time it's completely different - he cuts right across and is very much at fault. I don't think you wer acusing me of being an apologist but I think he that time he was hard done by.

You could be right. I'd like to watch it again (again, what stage was it?). I remember watching it a bunch of times last summer to try and make my own decision, but in the end, went with the experts who, as far as I can tell/remember, were unanimous in saying Cav was at fault. I will trust what former pros and commentators say above the opinions I read on the internet when I'm in doubt over my own decision.

In any case, Thor fucking rocked Cav in the next stage and earned that green jersey like a champ.
