  • After hearing the guys I work with talking about richmond park on numerous occasions, yesterday I decided it was time to do a lap myself. I only really ride to commute at the moment which means riding 8 miles a day so I thought i'd be looking at about 25-30 mins for a lap.

Starting at Stag lodge entrance and riding clockwise, I didn't know the route so took it easy in case a hill suddenly appeared.

I was riding fixed 39 x 16 and surprised myself with a lap time of 22 minutes 30 seconds which has got me thinking of what might be possible if I push myself and try it on a different set up.

Really want to try it with drops as I've never properly ridden anything other than risers as I previously only rode BMX so prefer an upright riding position although now I'm becoming more and more frustrated by the amount of wind resistance sitting bolt upright causes when I'm trying to go fast.

I've definitely caught the go fast bug!
