I'll do some stats at the end of the season - including points by name ranking. The Tom's might have to pick up their game if they want to catch the Simon's.
my money's on Symon and Bryan coming top 2.

Nice one.
Interesting to see that both our times were significantly slower than the Rollaz track day times. Similar deal with the pursuit times, shows what a difference the weather and a hard days work makes to performance
Exactly. And, also, the 200 was the first event at the RLPZ/GRPTT (after a warm up). I definitely felt slower last week as I was doing it, with less juice in the legs.
Out of interest, what sort of times are possible on that track? I have no idea what a really fast time is.

I think Marty Nothstein has the track record from Good Friday some years ago. No idea what it is though!
As any sprinter will moan at you, we only had half a lap wind up, so given longer, the times would be faster.

Matt Crampton did a 10 something in 2008, I think you'd be hard pushed to break any records that were set when the surface was newer.

I've seen two 10.9's there Crampton and Northstein. Not sure the wind up lap makes much difference if I'm honest. My pb there is 11.8 on a day when it was about 10c.
Re the times being different, wind and temp make a huge difference. On an indoor track 1c is 0.012 of a second over 200m. So the difference between 20c and 30c is over a tenth of a second per 200m, 0.6 per kilo so nearly 2 seconds for a 3k pursuit. Add wind and differing air pressure and times can be massively affected!

I'd agree that 1/2 a lap (starting from back straight like GF) compared to a lap doesn't make a huge amount of difference to times or feel.
But this is completely different, around 3-4/10th of a second slower and feels like a much harder effort if you are used to a "normal" 200.
Maybe with practice, some riders could reduce the differential to a negligible amount, but for a pure sprinter a good bulk of their ATP-Pcr system is getting hammered having to go from 0mph to 20mph in 50 metres instead of essentially having that in the bank from "free" speed.

Don't forget Humidity. The higher the humidity the less dense the air is.

Also, would anyone like to claim to be 5th in the Warm up race? I was given number 16 - which was Connor - who didn't race.
1st S5 Stuart Hourigan
2nd Sx52 Keith Coffey
3rd S68 Neil Irons
4th S11 James Solly5th S16? ?
6th S12 Chris Cole
Also, I haven't got any results for the A 3 lap dash. Any ideas?
Do you have positions below 6th? Might help work things out. There was a huge line of us that came across between about 5th and 10th if I remember correctly. I could have been up there but not confident enough to lay claim to the points.
3 lap dash result looks about right.
Dunno who was 5th in the opener but the huge line that came across "about 5th - 10th" was further back. There was the front 6, then me (7th) then a big mass of riders in a line. Could it have meant to be #18 Mike C? could look like 16 and would make sense. -
• #410
Understandable. Mike? You want the points?
-
• #412
Hi JC, not sure I did come 5th in the warm up, but either way, I seem to have lost all my points from before and should be on at least about 19!

Rob are you coming tonight?
-
• #423
what have I started?! I got the 'ill reaction' after a couple of sprints coming home on Monday and have had a achey neck so I think it's some kind of low-level bug (though not a bitey type one). I usually feel a bit gloomy when ill also, so that fits.
booze - am almost off it at the moment but it's made the odd ale (Badger) taste all the sweeter.

No, I am exhausted and not feeling great.

My legs are really tired after last night.
Lots of sprinting going on. Though I got caught napping in the match sprint :(
Another nasty crash, but only involving one person too
I thought I saw you there and was gonna come over but I think you left (or my brain fuzzled after the IP)
