  • Wait, so I do several rides a day and tot them up.

    Should I log them individually?

No, don't mean shit how long each trip is, total for the whole month only counts. Gives an advantage to the big teams. Not the most sophisticated system but hey, it's just a bit of fun, c'mon guys pride at stake here, log them miles and take the long way home.

  • i just joined up and logged my just under 20 a day for the last 4 days. and im second in the group! come on lads where are the couriers at? surely theyve cycled more than man boobs over 'ere!

    It's only been 3 days.

  • But yeah, c'mon, a regular commute should have most of you lot on cycle star staus, not the month to be "working" from home. I'm looking at you Mr Pink!

  • It's only been 3 days.

yea i put down today's last night too. bit ahead of the game but im halfway done now

  • Joined up. Becoming obsessed.... I'm logging the ride to work and the one back as two seperate rides... think you get more points that way.

  • Who knows cleaver pun? He is looging a lot of points for a different team.

  • Four laps of richmond park yesterday and a load of riding the two days before + no lies = top o the league.

    LETS FUCKIN AVE IT!

  • I don't think the length of journey makes a difference, but yesterday 10 miles = 50 points and today 28 miles = 38 points!
But it hasn't made a difference to the points if the miles were logged as 6, 3 and 1 miles yesterday and 4 x 7 miles today or 6 and 4 yesterday and 2 x 14 today.

For the maths to work, those numbers are points for your OVERALL TOTAL mileage. I don't think you get the extra points PER DAY, just once at the start.

Day 1, you did 10 miles, at 5 points per mile = 50 points
Day 2, you did 28 miles, that's 2 points per mile for the first 10 miles (up to 20 miles) and then 1 point per mile for the next 18 miles (cos by now your TOTAL MILEAGE is over 20) so it adds up as: 20 + 18 = 38 points
Day 3 onwards, I guess you will get a point a mile. For the rest of the month.

So I don't think its encouraging us to do short journeys, I think that's to get people started on their first ten miles. Cos let's be honest, we cover a crapload more miles than your average pootler. You gotta think, a lot of peeps cover zero miles most weeks. So them extra points for the first few miles are been and gone for most of us by now. It's nothing but a point a mile from now on I guess...

  • They have changed it.

THe same amount is worth less now. I put 5 miles on the 1st was 25 points, 5 miles today is 5 points.

  • What's your total mileage overall neu?

  • 34

  • 34

You're at over 20 miles now, you're only getting a point a mile forever now.

I just added 2 miles today, it was only worth 2 points because I'm at 38 miles.

  • o i c

  • Bit of a shame, cos I had thought that by taking the slightly longer route (cycling to Vauxhall in the morning and home from Clapham at night - 21 miles total) would have me racking up the points. Alas.

  • So as I'm now over 20 miles I just get one point per mile?

    Ahem.

  • The points are screwed anyway. If you look at the leaderboard it says one thing, but when you look as a team page it says another.

If TFL can't make their mind up, how the fuck is everyone else supposed to know?

  • We're not far from 2nd. I think we all need to shut up and ride.

  • I'm in (better late than never) and it's all @Ufrasia's fault. Seems you can only log miles on the day, and not do it later in the week so we have to log in every day to keep the levels up.

London Cyclist blog has a big team (50+ people) as well, so a bit of healthy competition going on.

You can log miles for other days. Just change the date.

  • Also, in the 11-50 member 'Social Groups' leader board, I see the current winners are 'Team SCR (silly Commuter Racing)'. Isn't that an ongoing thread on another well-known cycling forum? (Not naming names)

Come on people, add your miles god damn it!

  • Do Rollers count? Do you have to actually be in London?

I can probably add a few miles with my commute combined with a spot of Tri training around Oxford.

  • Four laps of richmond park yesterday and a load of riding the two days before + no lies = top o the league.

Don't get too excited robin I'd only logged my first two days of commuting...

Although you will have the whole weekend to overtake me... Hmm maybe I should ride early morning just to get some miles in....

Where's tricity!? Doesn't she do a 50 mile commute or something silly?!

  • You can log miles for other days. Just change the date.

Although as you get the same points either way you might as well log them all in one go!
(I'm using the right dates just because I'm anal like that)

also whoever said the numbers don't add up, they only show the points for the top bunch, the rest have points too, just not shown, correct me if I'm wrong?

Oh and the guy with a million miles has been nerfed.
