Yeah I will agree ... last years tour was a bit of a snooze fest once Contador was 5minutes up on everyone else.
I couldn't understand why everyone called Cuddles a wheelsucker last year- he was 5 min down, with no team support, against arguably the strongest team for ages (Contador+Lance) - what was he meant to do?

Don't worry, it's just ignorant forruns who know nothing about him.
Anyway, fuck Basso, fuck Vino, come on Arroyo, Evans, anyone else.. bit too late to be hoping for a crash in the TT if they can make it down Gavia without issue. :P

Remember Menchov last year, bit of rain makes it more interesting. BBC Weather is predicting "Heavy Rain Shower" for Verona today.

Yeah, that was a great finish :)

Fucking tennis. The TT is on now.

• #382
Anyone know a free stream for it?

Is all over now.

• #384
Yes it is ...

Nowt much happened in the TT in the end did it ? Best bit was Simoni's tie.
Amazing GT though, Le Tour is going to have a hard time topping that

What, you mean getting more than three riders who have been suspended for doping in the top seven?

Ahh c'mon. For drama and suffering. It'll be the same set of dysfunctional characters out in July but if it's half as exciting, I'll be amazed.

Nope, Aussies winning the three minor jerseys.
Hang on, Vino, Basso, who's the 3rd?
I still really enjoyed this Giro.

Scarponi is the third, he was suspended as part of Operacion Puerto.
It was a great race, one of the best GTs in many years.
-
• #391
Ah, didn't realise. In that case, since Scarponi towed Basso away from Evans, it's an Arroyo win with Evans getting a podium spot. I'll just get them to fix the results now..

Podium Girl Has the Same look on her face again ...

So we assume that Basso was clean. What about his team?
-
• #394
After the Christian Frei episode you could, sadly, ask the same question about Evans' team. Though frankly if they were doping then God knows what they would be like clean.
I don't know about Basso; probably? His team? Unlikely. Scarponi? No chance.
But yes it was an exciting race. -

Christian Frei
Thomas Frei, actually.

^ Guys this Doping Convo gets boring because of two reasons
No-one really knows who is doping and who isn't, and lets face it, if I could cheat, get away with it and win I would everyday of the week, especially if I was getting paid fuck loads ... I don't blame them , IMO it is a job and sometimes you gotta work smarter and not harder.
Secondly if these guys test negative for doping .. you can't really accuse them for it ... I like to have the innocent until proven guilty .. I will be brought up on this ... but you gotta give someone the benefit of the doubt until you know better ... until then it is just speculation and from us (who aren't in pro cycling) utterly meaningless.

Oliver: You're Freight of course. Christian Frei directed the documentary War Photographer about the magnificent James Nachtwey.
-
• #398
Lucas: read up about Valverde and you will see that "innocent until proven guilty" is an elastic concept in professional cycling :)

^ I kinda agree ... but I think it is wrong to go accusing someone of wrong doing until there is evidence. One can say they have suspicion ... and I think that is okay and investigation into whether they have or not is the right course of action. Though I am coming from a truly idealistic point of view.
