Unfortunately, it's not the case that you get what you deserve in life. That would be 'justice'. There is, however, a fairly widespread phenomenon called 'injustice' which rather puts a spanner into this attitude.

An interesting case this one- some good debate.
As Oliver notes, things aren't always quite as simple as they seem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm against the type of society that takes away responsibility for people's actions as much as anyone, but I'd like to know how you would feel if you'd stood over the dying kid laughing only to find later that his dad is an alcoholic who beats the shit out of him/his mum on a daily basis if he doesnt get his tins of super or whatever when he wants them
