  • Sorry boys, this ones for the girls!! A little later than International Women's Day because of organising time and existing rides we all want to go to and around Summer Solstice is a great time to have a long ride!

Friday 18th June, meet at 7pm in Centenary Square. Route will take us via the canals and back down the Rea Valley Route towards town. Free bike stickers/badges/sashes for the first ladies there! I'm building a new bike this week and will be helping a few people do theirs too so if you want maintenance help before the ride...HOLLA!

I'm just printing the flyers now so if anyone wants to help promote it, I'd appreciate it!

PM me or contact or birminghambikefoundry@gmail.com

  • ahh wish i was a woman ahah
been having to much fun going on night rides recently.

  • if you stick an electronic version of the flyer on here, i'll forward it to some lady peeps

  • ^ ditto, assuming Cov ladies are allowed... is it fixed only though?

  • Cheers guys, sorry to be exclusive but we promised we'd do one! Any kind of bike at all, trying to encourage women who haven't cycled for a while to get back into it via a mass ride...or something! So the first one's gonna be pretty steady than if people want to do rides at a better pace, we'll arrange another.

  • Ill ask my sister if she wants to go.

  • Yeah - I'll spread the word. Not sure how many ladies post up here on the forum?

  • Hi, so, we're trying to encourage more ladies to ride because apparently we're underrepresented cyclists - doesn't mean men are not welcome - we're all looking for more people on the road, right? Tell your female friends, come yourself - we're going to go on marked routes mostly, to try and encourage new or less confident riders. Fixed, SS, shitty halfords mountain bike - all ok with me.

  • ESPECIALLY shitty Halfords mtb.

  • i've told my wife (anne-marie - nancy has met her) but she's resistant. i'll keep hassling her...

  • Why is she resistant?!

  • afeared that the pace will be too high i think. i keep telling her she'll be fine. she's been riding daily for a few weeks now, so she's much more confident on her bike.

  • Ah no, the whole point is a gentle ride to ease people back into cycling!

  • i'm planning on attending for the meet-up and grand departe, but it's engerland fc's first game at exactly the same time. anyone want to embrace their inner-hooligan and join me in a nearby pub to watch while the ladies go for a spin?

  • il come

  • ha got there just before me with the flyer! If anyone could do a bit of circulation with those, it'd be great. Dan, can we pop some in OYB or has Fin done that too?

  • Don't forget this Friday!

  • 7pm?

I dont think there will be many stars out!

My sis woulda come to this but she is at the world cup.

  • Getting deafened by vuvu's?

Recommend a hearing test upon her return!

  • this still goin on? with the rain and all ahah

  • Terrible. I thought the thread title was "Reclaim the Women, Night bike ride". I was about to come in here and kick everyone's asses for being so crude.

  • 'all welcome'...

    apart from blokes.. racists.

  • as far as i can understand men can go.
im a man and im goin.
