  • I agree except for the silver jews bit. It's depressing listening to musicians taking life seriously enough to think anyone gives a shit about how they spend time in the studio.

It's like that line about why you should never talk through a joke. It's like dissecting a frog, no one's interested and the frog dies.

    Just for you:

  • Silver Jews sound like a wet REM without the ROCK

  • It's depressing listening to musicians taking life seriously enough to think anyone gives a shit about how they spend time in the studio.

The best musicians, journalists and DJs have understood that pop music is both the most important thing in the universe and entirely silly and inconsequential. Peel was the master of this attitude.

  • Silver Jews sound like steve malkmus stoned in a library

    yep. thats the beauty.

  • Does anyone still enjoy Stephen Malkmus? His first solo album was great, but...

  • yeah, i see where you're going with this. My life is lived in the late nineties though, so its ok.

  • Flashmob at portland place tomorrow, if you're into that sort of thing:

Tuesday, May 25th is the end of the public consultation period of the BBC Trust's Strategy Review. We're taking the chance to send a clear message to the Trust that we won't stand for the cuts to Asian Network, 6 Music and the BBC website.

We'll be getting together around the UK to busk for the BBC. The BBC provides a platform for artists around the country who otherwise wouldn't be heard. Without this platform, the artists might be busking for a living.

We'll have musicians playing outside the BBC buildings in Birmingham, London, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester. If you don't live in these areas, you can use this site to host your own event. All you need is someone willing to busk for the BBC.

Time: Tuesday, 25 May 2010 GMT+01:00 Host: 38 Degrees Location: BBC Trust (London, London) 180
