I've converted most of my music collection to FLAC since the quality of Mp3 in some instances was deplorable.
However with my old shitty headphones it was acceptable since everything sounded shitty when using them, but i didn't know that until i got my HD595.
Since then all music has become immensely more interesting to listen to, which sounds over the top, but you'll know what i mean when your hear the difference.
this guy from GoodCans.com makes for some interesting reading.
