That's true, inasmuch as a HED3 is much better than a wire spoked wheel with the same rim and a much smaller area of round wire spokes, but the default aero steel spoke (Sapim CX-Ray) has pretty good aerodynamic performance across a range of yaw angles, and you only need 16 of them to make a usable front wheel. The MadFiber spokes have square corners, so they will have a lot of wake drag for their thickness, and will stall at a very low yaw angle. Just a bad idea all around. At least Lightweight manage to make their spokes more or less elliptical, and line up most of the fibres with the stress direction.
and yet people use disc wheels....

Better be careful or the cops will chase after you in this:
They've "upped" it a notch where I work, I shit you not. This thing trundles around campus on roads and paths. It's a menace!

Seen a few of these under Sigma Sport riders this year. I think the design looks fussy for something which doesn't seem to be definitively better than the long serving and simply elegant Cervelo P3
Does anyone actually use the slightly mad Storck Aero 2. I like the way they've intgrated the brakes, so you can look like a brakeless hipster while TT-ing.

The Storck is designed for them. It has space for the battery incoporated into the frame*, and has no normal gear cable stops.
(* not on my pic though?)

^^ at those GT/Yamaguchi, could somebody tell me why did they have to build this tall seat tube all the way up to the saddle? super-stiffness? to demonstrate some extra degree of customness?
i wonder what's the size of that frame (now that i know who the owner is... hahaha)its pretty fun to ride and the quality and feel of the steel frame is amazing. one of the smoothest fixed gears i've ridden. I believe the seat tube measures 66cm - my saddle height is about 73cm. the seatpost is only like 10cm! a longer seatpost won't fit due to the seat tube shape becoming aero in section. the top tube is 55cm. its essentially the same type of geo as a lowpro seeing the head tube is the shortest it could possibly be - but instead of cuving the top tube, the builder left it level. one could say the rear of the bike is a bit more stiff due to the shorter seat stays and more aero due to the top tube being out of the wind. every tube on the bike is aero shaped except the TT.
also each one of these yamaguchi frames i've seen has had the seat tube cut to fit the rider. its much like the seat masts you see today on modern frames - except without the integrated saddle rail clamp. -

I recently finished restoring an '81 Schwinn Le Tour. Water-common, I know, but I'm pretty satisfied with the result.

One post into your life on LFGSS, and people already think you're a twat. Remove your bike from this thread, spend a day reading the latest couple of hundred pages of the thread to find out why neither you nor anybody else should post it here, and then start again.

Beautiful job . . . but current projects is the thread you are looking for, to asign ones own work porn status is a forum faux par

Much tidier than the Specialized Transition up thread, although I still hate the 7900 cranks.

As is the traditional second-post for ignorant schlubs like myself, let me apologize for tainting the thread with self-promotion.

mmmm, not sure an apology is good enough. The law courts will have to decide on the punishment, it is that serious.

Nicely done. And pretending for one moment that this is Current Projects, yes - also nicely done.

Please note that I cannot edit my post. I've asked Velocio to move it to Current Projects, leaving some kind of "credibleDecibel is an unpleasant doofus whose mother wears combat boots." placeholder.
