Floyd Landis - further allegations

  • The UCI will leave it to the individuals accused by Mr Landis to take the position they see fit with regards to this issue.

This is just brilliant. I actually LOL'd.

I'm picturing a judge at a murder trial asking the accused...
"what position do take with regards to this issue"
    "errrr....innocent?"
    "Cool, lets get some crumble"

  • Just read the interview with Michael Ashenden-prob the most detailed account of Lance's 1999 tests I've ever seen and straight from the guy that basically helped design EPO testing for the 2000 Olympics... Verdict? Guilty as sin. Tut-tut Lance... Livestrong!

    http://nyvelocity.com/content/interviews/2009/michael-ashenden

    Bloody hell.

  • Blazin' Saddles:
"Latest rumour is that an out-of-form Lance paid Landis to make the allegations in the hope that Radioshack will be kicked off the Tour...."
    Ha!

  • Armstrong can cock off. He refers to himself in the plural - 'we this.. we that..etc' which is a bigger crime than doping.

  • It's a classic Armstrong tactic, attack the messenger, not the message.

LA getting the old substance abuse/mental health suspicion out there....

" if you saw the rest of the emails that we have it speaks volumes to his mental state, and, the time of the day that he sent it, I don’t need to fill you guys in on people’s habits or lifestyles"

"I saw him every day at the Tour of the Gila. Not one word was said. It was ironic because not one word would be said to any of us during the race. We heard stories about him talking to himself. But we would get home and all of a sudden we would have these emails from him at night"

And a non-denial denial wtf does this even mean???

What about the French prosecutors who have the medical waste deposits?
"I have no idea what the story is there and I haven’t been asked about that or informed about that. Other people are aware of that."

  • i posted a while ago about how people can convince themselves of innocence if they repeat their 'i'm clean' mantra and shout loudly enough, landis was like this but you can only keep up the charade for so long.

I've been trying to convince myself that I can ride a bike with a modicum of efficiency and speed. I keep repeating mantras to myself. I am still crap.

  • George Hincapie thinks that because he has had a long career and has earned some respect, it's OK if he doped.

I have been a professional on the circuit for 17 years – which is one of the longest careers in the peloton. During that time, I have earned the respect of my peers and a reputation for working hard, honestly and honourably. I'm really disappointed to hear these accusations.

  • Armstrong had a different attitude to Landis just last year when he tried to make his own comeback.

Strange how, now Landis has spoken out about doping, he's become the target of smears and ad hominem attacks.

  • I'm sure George Hincapie is a lovely bloke, but when you see a 6'4", 80 kg classics specialist dropping climbers in the Tour you know something isn't quite right.

  • The climbers all had hangovers?

  • any performance that appears "superhuman" most likely is, by definition...if you know what I mean...

    not referring to Cancellara here.....honest.

  • Sagan. What a stink.

  • Bloody hell.

Sounds pretty comprehensive, innit? Quite amused to read some of the Yankee comments-fair enough no-one likes it when a national hero is accused of something but at least give it some rational consideration-with regards to the supposed French authorities hatred of Lance, despite the stereotype a lot of French folk have a total hard-on for the states (shown by the Obama mania you got over there post election) and I really don't think it would be in anyone's interest to slime an honest champion... Thing is there has been enough circumstantial evidence over the years to create a lasting doubt over his performances and I hope its only a matter of time before people more credible than Landis come forward and spill the beans... in the meantime I hope Johan treats Betty well lol

  • any performance that appears "superhuman" most likely is, by definition...if you know what I mean...

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Maybe now is time to write Bad Blood 2 - the Landis chronicles

    lol

  • ...

Well, if he's clean, he'd have to be in the minority. This makes for grim reading... some of the old school doping techniques are amazing

The table at the bottom is worrying.

  • I know someone who's had this conversation with Vaughters..

who? and will he post that conversation on here?

  • He's a friend of mine who works in what I believe to be called 'the corridors of power' when it comes to cycling.

  • It's not me BTW

  • Or me.

  • lol ^ @ ^^ @ ^^^ andy you would make a great tabloid journo :D

somehow i believe you ved!! but then i'm so easily conned ;)

    'the corridors of power'?

  • 'the corridors of power'?

They lead to the pain cave, cupboard of discomfort and the larder of bewilderment.

  • …within which you'll find the shelf of emptiness, the hurt box, and some milk belonging to dancing james.
