Thank you very much Scherrit for my beautiful wheels! Can't wait to put thousands of miles into them.

Had been avoiding servicing my bike as I was expecting my new one to be ready.
It won't be ready for my holiday.
So as of ten am today I needed to get an emergency service
cheers to corinne and scherrit for answering my panicked calls and emails

I'm popping in tomorrow. :)

i have to say what a lovely, helpful and pleasant couple scherrit and corrine are.
went around there yesterday to get my seized seatpost out, which managed to snap off, must have been a crack in there.
i was allowed to beat the sh!t out of it with scherrit's hammer and wrecked his screwdriver :)
very welcoming and a pleasant experience around there. -

Ha! I heard about that. Scherrit has some big ass spanner he uses and I pictures Murtle beating the fnck out of his seatpost!
Had my fitting this morning which was great. Scherrit and Corinne know their stuff! Thoroughly recomended.

That they do.
Good to see you Friday mate.
And nice to know you're on the road to recovery. -
• #109
Hopefully next time I see you it will be on the bike.

I would love to have this done, but there is no way I can justify £125 for what we would essentially amount to (I use clips/straps, no cleat adjustment):
- saddle height
- saddle tilt
- saddle fore/aft
- stem recommendation
- handlebar tilt
£50 would be more appropriate for these adjustments.
- saddle height

it'll take a few hours to dial all that in, so your bike actually fits you well, and you can benefit from it.
-
• #112
I think you'll spend far more than 125englishpounds on components down the line, while trying to refine your position.

Exedanni, don't spout till you taste it.

it's 80 without adjusting cleats
i spent 3hrs there i think, that makes it about £27/hr which isn't much money at all for what you get.

is just the means to get you in a proper position. What you pay for is more effective position on the bike, more powerful pedal stroke, less risk of injury etc etc. And the revelation of riding from there with fuckloads stronger legs (that's the best way i can describe it) was for me worth every penny

Too right kboy.
I visited them courtesy of this site via Bikeradar. Back for a follow-up end of next week. Sterling people.

Another vote for the Bike Whisperer team. Adjustments to cleats, saddle height and fore / aft positioning, a new 10mm shorter stem, slight rotation of the bars and a bucket of sweat on their front room floor was the outcome of my visit. I had to double check the time when I left as the 3 hours flew by.
My appointment was on Tuesday and I've only ridden the bike once since for a short 12 mile circuit but it most certainly feels more comfortable.
Lovely couple who I have no hesitation in recommending.

Time for a proper update;
Considering that this time last year I could barely ride 30k without my left knee ripping itself to pieces, I've just returned from a riding holiday in Italy.
Scherrit, thank you. Not a single knee twinge. Not even when ascending Zoncolan.
It's time to sort out the riding position on the Surly to match the road bike. -
• #120
The Surly? Good luck raising the saddle height.

That was a holiday? Sounded harder than hard work!

anyone know what the deal is with taking two bikes (track and road) and getting a double fitting?
-
• #123
what I mean is — assuming I'll have to pay twice (two different fits), would I be able to get some kind of bulk deal? :)
-
• #124
it'll more or less double the work, but well worth asking.
I've only had it done for my steamroller, but gonna have a stab at replicating the fit on my newly acquired road bike myself, don't know how possible / great it is though

maybe look at the website here - http://www.thebikewhisperer.co.uk/bike-fitting
seems to imply it does not cost much more to set up a second bike at the same time
Scherrit's back then and not still riding through Spain? I need to take his disc wheels back..
