The game selection will improve. They can't just open it all up at the start from either a marketing or realistic view. Give a chance to highlight games and get money to the developers and more games will come.

I downloaded the Indie pack, Portal and Torchlight and stayed up late geeking out with World of Goo and Portal. Fun fun.

Anyone played sleep is death? Indie style 2 person multiplayer game where you direct/create a story through which you guide the other player.

Just paying a visit to Point Lookout, via Fallout 3.

Not only does it looks absolutely lovely, but it's also rock hard. I've been known to nuke feral ghoul roamers before, but I'm all out, and every time they swipe I'm down 25% health.

^I enjoyed fallout 3 but it got a bit samey towards the end... is this adding anything new to the game or is it just hard Crispin?

I think the DLC is really only for people who wanted more. They're mainly just added quests, save for Broken Steel which is like an extension to the main narrative and lets you level up to 30.

I am torching my way through alan wake. It is fun if very linear with samey gameplay yet beautiful especially the daytime bits where the draw distance is amazing. You can see far off mountain peaks that you know you're heading to. Though most of the wandering is at night.

It's got quite a compelling and tight narrative (so far, i'm on episode 3 out of 8) which IS unusual in a game

incidentally I'm a bit shit on multiplayer, fine and dandy on singleplayer though, the last time I'm pretty good at it is when Quake III Arena was released.

I played MW2 online for a week or so. At first I was doing ok, finishing in the top half of the board, racking up some decent (4 or 5) kill streaks, and then all of a sudden I am getting utterly raped whenever I play. Is this the game compensating for my increased experience or have I just run out of talent? :(

Also, there are a few maps which i LOVE playing, and they never ever seem to come up on the random selection servers!

Also also, I've been playing it through an HD projector recently (friend brought one round), and I seem to be experiencing pretty bad lag. Surely the size of the screen doesn't effect latency?? Might just be coincidence I guess.

Also also also, I've recently really got into Mirror's Edge. Came out ages ago now, ignored it on release but I'm finding it enjoyably challenging and novel - and jumping over shit doesn't seem to get old (although dying from 2 bullet hits, which sometimes happen at unavoidable moments does).

I reckon it is just you running out of talent! in reality it just may be playing against well organised teams as this tends to result in being shafted. I just got up to officer level and got the G3 gun which i have had a lot of fun with, maybe you just need to find a class that you like using.

Yeah expected as much. I never play team deathmatch for that very reason, only mercenary team/free for all and occasionally CTF/domination.

I think it might also be the big screen I'm using, i much prefer playing on a small flatscreen computer monitor, much sharper and clearer.

But meh, I dunno, I always get weird awards at the end of each round, like longest distance travelled. Suggests that I'm spending an awful lot of time walking around in circles and not actually going to where there are people to shoot. I think my playing technique needs a bit of work. Also, the sniper rifles are fucking impossible to use, no idea how I keep getting slaughtered by people with them...

right now I'm still using the Famas and a fully auto shotgun, although I never use the secondary weapon either really!

Meh, i should have expected this, same thing happened with CS:source. I just got progressively worse as time went on, with the exception of a couple of maps that I was pretty good at. And again, they were maps that very rarely came up on rotation on the servers I'd play on. Weird eh!
