I saw honestly the worst locked bike of my entire life last night in Manchester. Locked up outside a Sainsburys at about 9 last night was a really nice BMX, it looked well specialised but I have no idea to what purpose. It was gorgeous though, all chrome and anodized red with insane bars.
It was locked with one of those ridiculous combination locks, it must of had about a 5mm diameter. It was locked to a sheffield stand through two spoke of the rear wheel.
Considering how nice it was and how badly locked it was I was honestly tempted just to take it. I've never had a thought like that really, but I was just thinking I could probably just walk off with it.
Appalling. How badly locked does something have to be to INCITE me to theft?
I used to get these feelings a lot. Once I just missed out on a excellent deal on a brand new specialized P1 jump bike on ebay. I was so pissed off because I was lusting after it and it was such a great deal.
Then I see locked up in my town centre, the same model of bike, locked with a poundland cable lock! I know from experience (used these locks for silly things) that they pull open if you pull really hard.

I was so close to taking it, seriously close.
