it is sad, but- I will be dining in the West Bank (probably- dependent on the fact I'm going to Lebanon 1st- so can't really say whether the Israelis will let me in or not- I might just be arrested and interrogated- apparently)

eh????
What takes you there? I'd bloody love to go there...
Wouldnt the Palestinians be the ones with the call as to whether you enter?

Nope.
Israelis, plus you have to pay a tax.
Here's a rough guide on getting from Jordan to Palestine:- Get up stupid early.
- Get Car to border.
3.Get out of car, walk to checkpoint 1. - get through checkpoint- expect a 1-infinite hour wait time.
- Get bus to Jerusalem- go through Checkpoint to
OR - Get bus to Beit Jala/ any Palestinian run areas- go through at least 2 more checkpoints.
Eventually get to where you need to be.....
I'm a Palestinian (half), I'm heading to (hopefully) where my mum was born.

you will be missed! If you get the rubber finger, let us know :-)

my mum's suggesting even odds that I'll be arrested.

Interesting - should be an amazing trip. I'd have thought travelling the other direction would have been the ball ache.
You'll eat the fucking house down there, I'd imagine.

hell yeah balki- normally that would be the case, but as its triathlon season, I'm looking forward to long runs in warm weather, on the seaside in Beirut, and in Amman.
Also as I'm staying with family and my mum paid for my tickets (ha!) its free, and I will be force fed.
I'm mostly looking forward to:

good luck with that, I've been in a consuming race (booze admittedly) with Joe back in the day... both can't remember what happened after.. Joe did you have something to do with an Amberlamps or am I confusing stories?

Off to the french alps tomorrow.. I was planning interval training up Alpe D'huez to build form for the rest of the season but I've sacked that idea. The intention now is to drop 5 kilos in weight.. Which I shall re ingest on the 26th.. Keep the thread alive people....
