i think all forms of canti bosses are the same whether there's a centre-pull, u-brake, or v-brake.and the side of the stays won't affect whether a v-brake will work there, as long as it fits. have you tried a v-brake there yet? if the clearance is a problem maybe try one of those "mini-v"s? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=34580
