  • Now, there I was yesterday, mounting ExiWolf 2.3" tires on my pretty much standard Focus Black Falls 29'er, when I realized that the tires are too big for it... damn' fucking shit.....

Anyway, I have been annoyed with it having a useless front suspension fork for some time now, and the geometry seems a bit wack as well.. So I started thinking about replacing the frame with a Surly Karate Monkey or something like that..

Are you people riding those things still happy with them?

I kind of expect that I'll be able to move the current parts from the Focus to the Karate Monkey without too much trouble.

    • Deore LX gear gruppo, (shifters, derailurs, cranks, hubs)
    • HS33 brakes

It should work fine with a quickrelease on the rear wheel when running geared right?

    I'm 5'11 and normally ride a 56cm frames road or track.. Based on google I guess I'll fit a 18" 29er frame?

Any other suggestions than a Karate Monkey?

18" sounds about right, but top tube lengths vary a lot on 29ers, so you need to be a bit careful.

    Loads of 29ers here.

Cant go wrong with a karate monkey though. Plus Salsa have a nice range too. But if I had'nt found my Spot frame on Ebay, was set on getting a Vassago Jabbawocky
