Picked up an 8.5 Cinelli XA stem and Profile Airwings off Justin (JD) on Saturday, in time to put it all together with some lovely white Fizik bartape and Tektro TT lever (I'd previously purchased from Soul) before the Marathon ride. Cut my fingers to shreds making a 26.0-26.4 shim, and it still slips, and that's without the little rubber wedge that should be between the clamping surfaces on the stem that I need to put back in or I risk snapping the whole bar clamping area. When the bars are in the right position it's fucking lovely to ride, I'm really enjoying it.
Unfortunately late yesterday afternoon, on my way from Camden to Purley, I started pulling away from some lights when I heard a snap and my LH foot came away from the pedal. At least I thought that's what happened. My LH pedal had somehow unscrewed itself so it was on the very last thread, so when I cranked hard from the lights it just stripped a thread straight out of the Miche cranks. Cheese. Took a while to snap the pedal off my cleat, then had to screw it back in finger tight and use the brake the whole way. Any leg resistance and it started unscrewing itself again.
