Any suggestions for things I can do/see for free/cheap in the daytime around Central tomorrow? I've got the day off work, but bf being stricken with man flu means that I'll be on my lonesome all day now, so original plans are out the window. I've been to most of the major free museums and galleries recently, so suggestions for other/off-beat stuff would be gratefully recieved...

Have you been to the Whitechapel Gallery? I'm planning on heading there on sat.
Or maybe even Camden - I can't stand it on a weekend, but on a Friday it might just be tolerable, and maybe even enjoyable? -

i've done parts of these. if the weather is good then they are a great way to see the place
Ed is right, some of the best time is spent getting completely lost

A ride down the canal is quiet nice, you could always Putney/Hammersmith to Richmond along the Thames as there are a few pubs along the way ;p

Ghost Stories.
Holy moly..
Written by Andy Nyman (Derren Brown collaborator) and Jeremy Dyson (League of Gentlemen) at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. Think tickets are between £10-£25 but its quite a compact little place so even my cheapish seats were close enough to the action.
The concept is awesome - set up as a lecture on the paranormal with Andy Nyman's character introducing us to three people he has interviewed as part of his studies. As the interviewees recall the events that scared them we see the action replayed, intesnely gripping. You could feel this tension in the theatre meaning that although jumps were anticipated they still shocked and the comedic parts were met with relieved laughter. I won't give any story away, but the whole presentation was really on-the-ball - Nyman's experience in mentalism and understanding the power of utilising senses other than sight created a insanely engaging piece of theatre.
I watch a lot of horror films and loved this, but I think anyone who fancies some top notch acting and a very original presentation will enjoy it. Same price as an IMAX visit and much better than any film I have seen this year.
The lyric is a dope little place too, nice bar, cafe etc.

I'm in London for the weekend and have a few hours to kill tomorrow morning and possibly Sunday morning. Looking for suggestions of how to spend said few hours before meeting up with mates. Will be heading to Stockwell road area to meet up with folks.
Almost total London n00b to be honest. Only really been for the odd conference.
Thought about visiting Tokyo Fixed/14 Bike Co/BLB. Not sure if I can get to any of them and then to Marylebone on Sunday with reasonable time to spare (don't even know where they are yet!) Gotta be on a train for 1:30.
Suggestions (flames?)

Gwyn & i went to the new little cafe in bonnington square this lunchtime to soak up the sun.
I've never seen so many yoghurt weaving, hemp croc wearing eco types. Cracking lunch though.

What, and miss a detour through E&C and heygate estates? Now there's a good place to get lost.

I used to live and work off the heygate. I've done my time there!
Distinct lack of crocs, other than the living variety somewhere inside the aylesbury.

^ saw Ghost Stories on Monday night... a bit cheesy in parts, but well done... a few people in the audience sounded like they shat themselves in the shock bits...
