Just seen a pale turquoise brakeless bike hanging out the back of a Honda Accord's (I think) boot. Car had blacked out windows and somehow just didn't look right with a fixed gear bike thrown in the back.
Risers, pale (Oury possibly) grips, and risers.
Car reg. M748 ELC.
Seen by Hackney Empire.
Hopefully this is innocent but like I said, it just smelled fishy. -

Lessmann, sorry to hear about your loss. I know all about that pain well mate.
I live not too far from Notting Hill and am always around there. I also have a thing for Focus bikes. I own a 2007 Izalco Expert. Beautiful.
So I'll DEF keep my eyes peeled. Chances are of course, that ironically, NHill is probably the last place on the planet you can expect to see it now.
Have to agree with one of the comments though. No way a bike that beautiful should be left on the streets...

I figure organised thieves probably move gear about. Shift a van load of bikes up to Glasgow and vice versa.
Is there some way to search gumtree for the whole of uk instead of just one city at a time? -
• #3838
Is there any point in looking on gumtree these days? I'm after a cheap bike for the other half so looking at all options. This would do the trick, but who the hell lists the parts as
Saddle black,
seat post silver
chain red for single speed.Stupid or stolen?

• #3839
Hi Yemble, you could always set up a google alert for your stolen gear? Usually picks up Gumtree ads.

I've had my bike stolen. It was a Fuji Track 2008 (grey/black frame) with new red high rise handbars, shimano front and back bracks, running freewheel on a flipflop setup. New Continental tyres. They bolt cut through the railings outside my house near Hoxton Sq on Friday night 16th April. I went away for the week after it happened so haven't been down to brick lane or checked websites. I'm sure its gone forever but keep an eye out and all that!
Cheers. -

My bike has just been stolen outside work. I'm absolutely devastated and shaking as I type this as have had it only for 3 days - they cut through my abus lock. If anyone sees it please let me know, it has bright pink Oury grips, new silver pro max brakes, flat bars which look a bit wide as was planning on getting them chopped and was going to insure it tonight.
It's only small with 650 wheels so pretty unusual - fuck fuck fuck.
Here is a pic - any help would be much appreciated :'(

Very sorry to hear that. Especially the bit about the insurance, that sucks.
It's pretty distinctive in its current build so take photos to bike shops with your number on and get yourself down brick lane this sunday morning early, preferably with some backup. Have you got the frame number?
-
• #3845
I haven't got the frame number but will ring the bike shop I bought it from and see if they have it - thanks for the support and advice fox

My bike has just been stolen outside work at the Architectural Association, WC1B 3ES between 2pm-6pm today. I'm absolutely devastated as have had it only for 3 days and it took me fucking ages to find due to the unusual size- they cut through my abus lock. It was the first time I rode it today. Not to be a proper girl about it but this is definitely a shedding tears situation.
If anyone sees it please let me know, it is a single speed with flip flop hub, has bright pink Oury grips, silver pro max brakes, big mountain bike brakes as bought new ones today to fit, flat black bars which look a bit wide as was planning on getting them chopped tomorrow and was going to insure it tonight. fuck fuck fuck.
It's only small with 650c wheels, and 43cm frame so pretty unusual and a pain to get hold of. It also has a sticker mark on the top of the headset.
cheers

-
• #3849
sorry realised i didn't mention any of that - it's a black 43cm fuji classic track, 650c wheels with black hubs and alex rims, kenda tyres, silver/black pedals without toeclips, black fsa crank, mostly otp but added brakes (they are long black silver mountain bike levers but was planning to change them this week), flat black bar and bright pink oury grips -

cheers, i just can't believe my bad luck - properly heartbroken but it's just such a distinctive bike i have everything crossed that someone spots it.....
this is on of the four. i c an't find the others now
what i found suspicious is that he gives his whole address as if to say "i'm NOT DODGY" but why would he have 4 bikes for sale?
