IF BLT sorted out that Fantom rear mount to be like the cheaper rear BLT, I'd buy it cos it could sit just below my saddle.
But til then I'll stick with my Mars 4.0. Only thing I don't like about it is that it has to be low on my seat post cos u have to pull it up to get it off, meaning it looks a bit shit and I have to piss about moving it up when I put a rear mudguard on.
COME ON BLT!

Haha! Very impressed. They look beefy!
Nice to see you've got em rigged to a dyno-hub. Saving up for a dyno wheel build for my gentlemanly pub bike.
The cheap Shimano one does the job rather well for that, I'm thinking of putting a dynamo hubs on the beater with a chrome headlight, something that won't get me caught out in the evening.

Precisely my reasoning. Can't forget it as it's permanently attached and therefore (relatively) un-nickable and the batteries won't die when you're half way home.
Will have to look into the Shimano hubs. Cheers.
Can't find any LED dynamo lights that would look decent on a bike kitted out with 1940s style parts though. Might have to be a DIY hack job.

I think I remember Bobbin Bicycles have some chrome one in the shop;
that's the one you're looking for?
edit - just realise it's battery powered, damnit.

Ah nice one! those are pretty good actually.
for a moment when I click on the link, the first thing I saw was £155 thinking that how much that chrome dome cost!

Any legal issues arising from night rides and these lights?

what kind of legal issues are you thinking?

hey tommy whats the specs on the lights + what batteries are you planning on using?

That's what I was thinking this one is the DH3N80 which is meant to be similar resistance to the SON. Rose.de have a good selection of lights and hubs, shipping is only 6 EURO too, cheaper than UK stockists.

1 CREE XPG and 1 CREE XPE, I spit on batteries.
If it wall works out well I may build a MTB wheel with a tipple set up and a handlebar switch to switch on or two of the LEDs off at low speed.

ha! nice tingle on the tongue. I thought if you are offroading you might have another front wheel..
I have a triple cree and driver and case sitting here but no batteries to incentivise me. 63 euros is a bit much atmo. I'm thinking to just get lots more AA NiMH cells. -

It would be a new front wheel too, but considering I have not even build my new MTB yet and since this evening my old blue single speed has no front wheel (well I'm sharing it with my girlfriend) there is no rush!

You know when your mobile phone is near your computer and just as you are about to get a call the screen goes funny and the speakers make that noise?
Well my phone was sitting on my desk next to this little blinky red Smart light and just before I got a text the light turned itself on and flashed in the same jittery fashion as the wobbly business that would appear on my monitor. I had to turn the fucker off.
Weird. Had to share it. Anyone know why this happened? I blame the aliens.
