[FONT=Helv][SIZE=2]Wow...it's hard to add anything more to what's already been said...but I'll try...
I knew that the UK Champs was gonna be totally awesome, even before the first 1, 2, 3 POLO! had been called. I mean, how could 2 days of Polo, on an indoor court, with nearly all of the UK scene present not end up being awesome?
The weekend felt more like a Polo festival than a tourney, what with the outside music and BBQ group lunches on the grass. It all made for such an awesome atmosphere.
So a massive pat on the back goes to Adam, Gabes, the whole CHANchester scene, the sponsors and the hockey club guys, for whom all made this tourney happen. Also, a big thanks to Kat and Sara who put up the Cosmic family. You made us feel so welcome and your court side support was awesome esp as you don't even play Polo!
With the tourney itself, the venue was so good to play on, even if it was a little bit slippery. at moments. The ball just rolled across the floor like it was on a snooker table. There were loads of great games to watch and the final top 6 standings could have gone any way. It was brilliant to see teams like Sparkle, Cogs, Fiasco, and Los Conos push hard to play well and grab some memorable wins. Josh, really deserved MVP and I thought all of Fiasco played amazing. I'm stoked that the young guns are going to Berlin - surely Adrianne will need to go with inorder to chaperone?
To Apples, a big hug. I have so much respect for you guys as individuals and as a team. You guys were on it this weekend and sharing the final was just epic. The result could have gone either way - I still can't believe it lasted 30 mins!
A huge kiss to Therese for giving Cosmic the best support and for some how putting up with all my polo doings of recent - even when I talk about it in my sleep!
And finally to Tom and Toddy.....so much love. You guys were incredible. You inspire my play so much and with out you both there is no triangle and there no cosmic polo.
Overall, there were too many great and funny moments to try and recall. Actually, if only one of the passagers who was sharing the carriage with all us lot on the 8,55 train could post on here all that they heard us saying. Because in that 3 hr journey we all gave one hell of a polo focus round up of the whole weekend!
I HEART POLO!

that photo is just making me regret even more that Paul didn't get round to writing "property of Manchester" on the base of the trophy
Sorry, a bit late now, but does this help?
I should have made it bigger though, they deserved it.
I should have made another, Apples deserved one too.

just got back to Paris, still in a fuzz after the weekend relaxation.
Everyone was so positive over the last couple of days, it indeed felt like a polo festival in some countryside ( ok, manchester IS a village, fair enough ;) .My lovely team off to play together and have fun, and this is exactly what we have done. Andy providing great amount of missing skills, bad designers bad designs, and i as always just crashed a lot. I LOVE POLO .
Thanks to everyone for organizing, being there, playing, drinking, grilling and chilling. can we do this again soon ?

Here's the final for those of you that missed it.
I haven't uploaded it at full quality for speed's sake and haven't edited anything or done anything with the sound.
(Probbly best to watch it full screen?)Will put up an edit of all the other footage as and when I can get round to it.
Haven't begun to look at photos yet…Fucking epic, just watched the whole thing... Great game... :o

Wow...just watched the vid...crazy...I knew the score, yet I still felt tense watching it.
Some great moments of skills from us all. One I liked in particular, was when Em shielded me from the ball as we both rode a tight 360 circle - crazy bike + mallet + ball control. Some sweet passing and shooting build ups too + amazing team d saves by Apples and solo saves by Todd.
Overall one hell of an epic game. Although, perhaps 30mins was too long because I think as we all knew there was a lot of time to play non of us wanted to take risks in the first 15mins. The game def got faster in the last 15mins when the pressure built up to secure a win.
How will next years final go and end?
Also, cant believe how smooth rolling the ball and bikes looked on that court. Wish we always played on such a surface.

All that laughing was after Brendan pointed shouting 'Sick Buckets' and we all looked to see if it was written underneath!

cosmic thanks for taking it home (20 quid! what!!!!)
i was in portland dressed as a dinosaur playing net and getting schooled by Smile and meeting loads of awesome people, but you were all in my heart and mind, i miss you LBP!

That was amazing! But I reckon Gabes would have topped it if he had managed to score from that scoop carry against BAD. Would have been goal of the year...

Call me a sadist, but that worked out REALLY well for those of us spectating. ;) -

First goal was after 8 mins, second after 10. That suggests that 20 mins would be about right. But I wasn't bored at any moment.

Finally got t'interweb set up in the new flat!
Ok, so huge thanks to everyone that turned up and made this happen. Always a pleasure to hang out with LDN massive but also great to see Newcastle/Cambridge/Birmingham/Brighton and Sheffield. You brummies need to get up to MCR more often!
Thanks to all the mcr polo family for your hard work over the last few weeks, especially Adam, Woody Ste and Neil. I'm so glad we actually decided to host this, it couldn't have ran any smoother. Gabes, thanks for all the help with the schedules/circle etc... It can be a tough format but i feel it worked well and i would say the top 6 teams are a true reflection of the best in the UK at this present time.
Fiasco - well done guys. To say i was blown away by your polo would be an understatement. Josh/Tony = The future. The game between you and beards was my highlight. So tense, great to see Snoops so passionate and rallying up the beards for one more goal! And nice to see him so gracious in defeat. I thought he would of kicked off considering how much he hates kids ;)
Cogs - Awesome game, and a well deserved win. You've given us a big wake up call. In fact the standard of LDN polo in general just keeps getting better and better. You always push MCR to step it up, which is good.
Conos - Believe it or not Netto love playing against you ;) i think your one of the hardest teams to play. Much love x
Just a quick mention to Fen Boy 3. You played out of your skin all w'end, Hayden was in serious contention for MVP. Harvey, i owe you money for 2 mallet heads ;)
BAD - Unlucky on completing the double! I'm glad i didn't put any money on you now. I was going to back you for 1st. You played some sweet polo, your last game when you all played out was another highlight for me. RELEASE DAVE!
I'm so happy that Apples made it to the final, you guys don't fuck about. You said you wanted podium and you got it. The hardest working team in polo imo. I've never seen Gabes play like that, and Em was just pushing it to the absolute limits. Rik's blocking/shots and general awareness was incredible. The golden goal against BAD was amazing, as gabes dragged it in to position he took one look at dave and you could actually see the moment in his eyes before he pumped it in!
Cosmic - The first ever UK Champions! Congrats. Cosmic polo from you guys all w'end. Todd and Matt are fucking awesome, great link up play, bike control, and awesome wheelie shots. When Tom was released he didn't waste any chances. I seem to remember him either scoring or assisting every time he was out of goal. Hope all the winners like their prizes!
The atmosphere all w'end was more like a polo Glastonbury than you're usual tourney. Again, huge thanks to Neil for the BBQ and Music. It was lovely just hanging out with everyone, like chatting shit with Aidan/Woody about the state of British television! "Pump it" and "pop the collar" are given "penis" and "shoot it" a run for their money!
Everyone was just so chilled out both on and off court. Considering what was up for grabs the games were some of the cleanest and well natured i've seen in polo tournaments all over the world. I'm proud that we have such a good scene here in the UK. Beards v Fiasco and the final are the 2 best examples of this. No one got aggro or lost it, it was a joy to watch.
So well done to all the top 6 teams, Malice, unlucky on missing out of the podium but at least you're going to the worlds and well done in the euro qualifiers.
MUCH POLO LOVE FROM CHANCHESTER!

maybe gabes/chn wants to put that in the OP? would be a good habit to get into following tournies
Congratulations again, Cosmic, Apples and BAD - watching you all play was hugely entertaining and pretty amazing at times. Lots of impressive mad skillz.
Thanks so much to everyone involved in putting it together, I'm sure MCR will be remembered fondly by everyone that took part in the first UK champs. It was really great to see teams from all over and share some brilliant moments on and off court.
Thanks Adam for putting us up again.
I can't wait to see the Edinburgh wheel taco footage - Andy must have set a record for fastest mechanical failure.
Polo!
