Most likely not. They will say it comes under an "Act Of God" something that is out of the operators control. We use it all the time in Shipping & Transport. It is just a cheap escape from paying out really.

They re-opened to flights going north, as the ash cloud has cleared from the north. You still can't get to Europe from Scotland as the airspace you'd need to fly through remains restricted.
