The serial number 34xxxxxx seems to date that to 1972. I've been watching a few of these Seamasters over the last couple of weeks, those from the late 60s-mid 70s, and they all seem to go for anywhere between £200 and £280. It really depends on the watch.
Nice time piece. That seller has had some interesting stuff lately

only just noticed this thread. About time too... oh fuck shoot me now...
Anwayz, this subject is one of interest to me. For some reason I love old Japanese watches. Seiko diving watches and old Citizen things. ~For me a watch must be a minimum of 200m water resist cause nothing else survives surfing.
Best watch I have is a cheapish Citizen eco-drive with perpetual calendar. Has run flawlessly for about 8 years and even been down to 40 meters or so. Also have a couple of Casios, Calculator one with tV remote and a G-shock. My Gf gave me a nice seiko once but its not rated for diving, still love it though.

have you seen some of the old Soviet watches? You can find them "NOS" with a purported rating of 700m. Not sure if that's true or not.
I prefer my Vyper and the gf prefers her D6 for that sort of thing.

I have never heard of them but now I bloody want one. Thanks!
edit:
but Caveat Emptor:
http://reviews.ebay.com/Beware-Of-Russian-Zlatoust-Divers-Watch-AKA-Amphibia_W0QQugidZ10000000001405144It would seem they are poor quality repros.

Yeah. There's a lot of shonky looking stuff out of the old USSR. But there is also some really interesting stuff. Do you homework, etc.

Thing is, I'm not looking for a new one. Have a Raymond Weil that I'm really happy with. Just worried about shaking it to bits. Seems like I should probably stop worrying though, eh?

hey, i love the old japenese divers too, but that is rubbish about the minimum 200m for surfing mine is a 150m and has been pressure tested to 200m = 328ft, a damn sight more than any normal diving, even a diver will not go that far down without a dry suit and serious deep sea diving gear.
surfing is not that hard on a watch, mine has been run over twice, and still survived.p.s. i can't even swim BTW

Nice, join the club
That red stitching looks wank though
Look for one with Anti-shock
I mostly wear my Speedmaster Pro. I met someone at drag sprints who was considering one but was worried that it wouldn't stand up to the rigours of cycling. As I said to him, I bought one because it stood up to all of Nasa's tests (the only watch to do so) and several moon missions. A bike ride ain't nothing.
I managed to make my Constellation not work by wearing it when playing the drums, but after a service and a clean it has been fine ever since.
