• I'll tell the tale when I've had some sleep. a few zzz's on the train back is not enough catch-up for 32 hours of wakefulness since Friday morning! Hope CrimsonApes's knee gets better soon, otherwise good news only though from the 'following group'.

Well done, John! Look forward to the report!

Well this is way too late, but for the record, Braker, Crimson Ape and myself all made it to Brighton about 2 hours after the 'magnificent seven', without having had any interaction with them and by which time they were on the train home.
The reasons we weren't with the main group were firstly that I hadn't made it to the start of the ride at HP corner, where I'd intended to get phone no.s, as I've done previously and has proven invaluable. The ride was at Chelsea Bridge when I joined it -with the rain just beginning. Then I picked up Oliver's voicemail saying Braker might call me, wanting to catch-up. I got a gasping message to the front that I'd stop at Beddington whilst the group went on. Then ensued over an hour of waiting in the rain whilst I took calls from Braker in which I mostly failed to hear anything he said, because of the appalling wet-road traffic roar. I also managed to mis-direct him into the industrial estate to the East of Hackbridge. Incredibly he found me. Crimson Ape was with him too and re-enthused, the ride was on again!
We didn't get there quickly, but we had a small adventure, which I really enjoyed, not least for the chance to perve Braker's remarkable bespoke ti frame and the others' uncomplaining tolerance of my mindless babbling and my own amazement at (mostly)remembering the route. Crimson Ape was faultlessly stoic about his increasingly painful knee. It was a walk-up Ditchling for him, but Braker and I beat the Beacon. After food at Izzy's the three of us got a wily group-save for four back to London. and a'spotted' from Teenslain at Victoria.
I did an errand or two and got home around 3.00, feet still wet!

    Yes, I'm up for another.
