I don't know about anyone else, but I caught myself a cold :(
I was really up for turning around and going home at Gatwick, it was a miserable ride in the rain and people were really feeling it. I'm glad that people were sensible and called it a night, it got colder and wetter as the night ran on.
So.. Gatwick. I planned to ride around the back entrance and cut through the footpath at Schlumberg house, ride around to the BP and stop in there. Seems that the police were waiting for us at the gate! Luckily with the previous experience, Matt and I knew how to handle the police. We told them how wet and miserable we were and most of us want to get the train back to london. After a few phone calls they let us in and escorted us up to the terminal. Shortly after that, they came in the building and pretty much ordered us to go upstairs and warm up in the terminal!
Dropout, I'm kicking myself that i didn't get your number. I had everyone elses, but as you turned up late i didn't get it. There was a little confusion when you stopped and waited, I didn't know you were stopping. Live and learn from my mistakes on that one, shame we couldn't have hit the bright gay lights of brighton together!
So, roll on the next one. It's a great ride, I know the route off my heart now, apart from the bit between HPC and chelsea bridge!!!
Thanks Felix for being the man in the hat at the back, good work. Sorry I crushed your egg. Was nice to meet some new people, It would have been nicer to talk to you all a bit more but the cold and rain was against us.
