Not at all irrelevant. How do you know that wasn't her motive for goading the police, y'know, in the back of her mind she knew she could sell her story and make a few quid. So her reasoning for being so aggressive (that she was protecting her friend, or whatever) would have come under more scrutiny. The fact that she didn't even turn up to court speaks volumes. So no, not irrelevant. (How's that? Any good?)
I'm all for a healthy dose of cynicism (sp?), but do you honsetly think that this woman say a vigil for the unfortunate death the day before, and thought "hang on one sec, if i go down there and goad that popo, then he will hit me, and beat me, and i am sure to be caught on camera, and i am sure to make £50k when Max Clifford comes knocking at my door", cos that is clearly bullshit. Is it a mere coincidence that the day she decided to 'act up' is the same weekend that the police have already proven to be in a brutal mood (death of Ian thomlinson, trampling and chargin of climate campers, kettling etc., or do you think that it is probably the police mood which is the catalyst here?
