It hardly show's the police aren't accountable as it went to court and the copper has been suspended since it happened and still may face internal disipline.
But it does show that you are innocent until proven guilty, if the main witness doesn't turn up to court (possibly two main witnesses - I think her ex was supposed to go too) then it's hardly a surprise that guilt could not be proved. If she was so worried about people questioning her life why sell her story in the first place.
