Got side-swiped about a month ago and the swine drove off as I lay in the street. Fortunately an off-duty copper saw it and chased him down! Unfortunately she got his reg number wrong (!) and now they can't trace the car. Caused probably £200 damage to my bike and clothes but after a month they say they still can't trace the guy. Not sure what to do as they keep saying they're working on it. I know they've got bigger things to worry about but this guy could have left me for dead.
I know his address though as he told us (me and the copper) and I've been round to check it's him. Do I let the coppers do their thing indefinitely or just go round and demand some cash off this guy? I've just been made redundant and need my bike fixed but he said it was his "sister's" bike and he wasn't insured. Sigh. Part of me wants him punished (points and fine etc) and part of me wants a new jacket and handle-bars/stem!! :)
