are members allowed to use the herne hill track outside of the set scheduled session times?
I really want to use the track, but can only make it midweek evenings - none of the schedules fit and to be honest id rather train on my own
-
• #132
Members of what?
And no, probably not.

members of herne hill track.
training apart from to become the next sir chris I also need to improve my general cycling fitness as im doing wimbleball 70.3 in july and my cycle from streatham isnt giving me enough conditioning,

Well the track is for training and racing on the track. To improve general fitness for road riding you should ride on the road. Not that track won't help, but riding alone isn't an option on a very busy and in-demand cycling facility.
If you want to be like Sir Chris you need to still get on the road and become a fit and well conditioned cyclist before you hit the weights room and the track to work on technique and tactics.
A lot of triathletes use the track on tuesday nights on road bikes.

im doing wimbleball 70.3 in july and my cycle from streatham isnt giving me enough conditioning,
the last thing you need to be doing for the 70.3 is track riding. go to the south downs. Wimbleball is FFFFFFing hilly. Used to work for tri uk, and all the top tri riders would have a totally different bike to what they'd use at any other event. Do reps up brixton hill, herne hill, or any other hill you can find. repeat until you pass out. then go for a run. sorted.

^^ College Road & Annerley Hill reps would probably be more challenging, but still local
-
• #143
Try Canobie Hill - and the ones next to it. Steepest in town!
-
• #144
greenwich park hill for easy safe car less reps.

Presumably you use the power of the force to conquer this one? :P
Never heard of it btw, where is it?
-
• #146
Near the Horniman (Canonbie) - no big deal. They're using it on that London Classic thing.
-
• #147
Ah, that one. It's steep but very short.
