  • This is my first post so please be kind.

I bought this 1970's Viscount Aerospace Pro for £50 which appears to be almost intact in terms of original components:

    • viscount cast aluminium 'death fork'
    • shimano crane rear derailleur and matching shifters and front derailleur
    • lambert and viscount chainset
    • weinmann brake calipers and levers

my plan was to build my first fixed gear bike using the frame and sell some of the original components to help fund the project. i have just been to a local shop to find out about a replacement fork as I don't want to experience the death part of the fork and they reckon (due to some issues with the BB and 27" wheels, etc) I would be better off cleaning up the components and selling the bike on in its original configuration then use the money to buy a more standard 531 frame fro my fixed gear project.

I wonder if I could get some feedback from anyone about my options as I was pretty into converting this frame but perhaps not if it is going to be a really difficult job as my first project.

    Cheers

    Rich
