There is always going to be a question over the long term life of carbon as it depends on so many factors (quality of initial materials, construction methods, UV exposure, etc)
although saying that the main consideration in my mind when i was choosing my current road bike frame was overall strength when used on a regular basis - I have seen to many carbon frames wrecked due to simple drops, crashes that aluminium or titanum frames would of survived.
