  • From what i've read/ridden the CAAD9 outperforms very little.
The Treks and Boardmans won. I even preferred the Alu Team Boardman, thats why i bought one.
    BikeRadar prefer the Boardman too.

Bit too intellectual for this forum, but here goes....

Bikeradar and UK bike tests are complete drivel...

This is what you need to be reading (in German)

Roadbike.de EUR2k 16 bike shootout alu vs carbon:

**CAAD (and a load of other alu frames) have higher BB, headtube and fork compliance than Focus Cayo and way more than Specialized Tarmac.

** Roadbike.de Conclusion summarised: "Alu is the preferred material at this pricepoint, compromises have to be made to get carbon frames under the 2k mark. Winner is alu Red Bull, then alu Canyon, Radon, Stevens. Carbon Focus Cayo is noted as decent."

The point is, groupset and wheelset is nice and all on the Boardman, but the first thing you have to upgrade will be the frame... With CAAD9/S1, the frame is top spec with numerous pro tour wins... :)
