    And if a motorist does it, even deliberately, it's a traffic offence. Or maybe nothing at all.

    There are a range of offences specific to people in motor vehicles, such as causing death by dangerous driving, which tend to get invoked in parallel cases. That's part of the reason you won't hear about manslaughter as much with drivers.
