madrobar, your perceptions are grounded in your own physical limitations.
Just because you are frightened to or unable to ride without the assurance of a rim brake and would like to dress this up as a public service doesn't mean that people cannot ride their bikes perfectly safely without the addition of a rim brake.
And anybody with half a brain knows that the leash on a surfboard is primarily to stop you having to swim to catch the fucking thing when you've been wiped-out, the safety for other surfers is a secondary benefit.
Your analogies consistently suck.
