2010-04-02 - Good Friday Meet @ Herne Hill

I am so pleased that other people have freely donated 3 hours of their otherwise busy lives to support a traditional event which showcases the sport I love and operates on a shoestring budget yet manages to come back year on year and raise the profile of a dilapidated venue that I use regularly, which itself is under threat.... for next to nothing. I am happy to pay £12 for a ticket to help the stadium's finances and will be encouraging my friends to come along. I am also happy to pay the pittance charged each week for the training sessions because I know that this also helps the stadium to keep going. Herne Hill is a wonderful place, well run and a great experience for adults and kids alike. I will be doing all I can to help bring people down there to keep it in funds and alive.
