So the pre ride ride went well today, I only got lost once and that was negotiating my way from HPC to Chelsea bridge ffs! I don't get that area of london at all.

Road conditions are in pretty good nick, a few potholes on some roads but there were plenty of long smooth sections.

Also, spotted the happy campers on their way back from brighton, probably the most random DO A SKID they ever had

Good work, Owen! Any plans yet where to stop in the middle?

If the ride is quite cold, a bit of warmth is always appreciated. There is that 24hr garage that we stopped off at the last time around. It at least has sanitary facilities. I think Simon Legg knows more places, and there might be something in Horley, too. Which route did you take past Gatwick today?

My wife is feeling left out this Easter and won't cycle that far. She will be training it down to meet us for breakfast. We will be staying at the premier inn on north street.
If anyone is interested, it costs £74 for the room and £114 for b&b and dinner for two.
Trains cost £27ish anytime return and £13.90 back to London.

I've reviewed my options and I think we will stop at Gatwick BP petrol station. We can do my normal route and pop through a public footpath into the estate. That way hot drinks and food will be obtainable without breaking any Gatwick Bylaws
