• the ti is going to be in inactive for a while, so i can pay for the bmc, but when my money is sorted out again that will be it

    what happened to the fuji?

  • what happened to the fuji?

    fuji - 0

    bmc - 1

    i got enough fixed bikes

  • Haha cool
    Road bikes ftw...
Im getting ex team leggero soon :P

  • well enjoy it mate :-)

  • What a pain. I'm just cooking up a scheme to import a cool cargo bike by bribing a friendly bike shop to run it through their business, then buying it via my highly cooperative employer to get the tax and Vat off it.

  • Evans can get lot more brand than you think. its not just whats on their web site

Already tried. Standard stock items only, no special orders of any sort.

My company is probably a bit bigger than most (approx 64,000 employees) so they arn't gonna change supplier for me.

Pretty much all the road bikes are shimano or SRAM, me only likey campag.

Thought about the Fuji track pro, but it has 170 cranks, plus there are new rules that evans are following, saying it must be proper road legal so they have to supply it with a drilled fork and brake fitted :-(

  • So get it, switch the cranks, and take off the brake ;)

Some of those BMC's have campag bits.

  • That BMC looks tasty, but why do they have to put so much 'writing' on these newfangled bikes?

  • That, I would have, picture even shows campag, but alas 105 :-(

EDIT - Actually, the merckx website lists Veloce / Khasmin as an option. Will look into that tomorrow, if they do, we have a winner!

hmm where are you based in London? I have mates in certain branch that could help you out. The other technique you could use is; order the bike in via special order, (they'll get you any bike from any of their suppliers) pay the £50 deposit, get your deposit back and buy with the voucher

when i had a FTP on order i think it said that it was supplied with a rear brake only. cant remember exactly though

i had the same problem with campag road bikes, but in the end i gave in and took shimano. im probably going to end up selling the bits and replacing them with record anyway

  • So get it, switch the cranks, and take off the brake ;)

And buy a new fork. And a new stem cause the fitted one is too short.

£900 bike + £150 new cranks + £150 replacement fork + £50 for the brakes they have to include.

And the cranks and fork I can't get at evans, so and extra £300 out of my pocket. Plus the £500 it would cost for the bike. Just not worth is, almost the same as buying straight.

  • all the bits on the new FTP are shit anyway so you would only be left with a frame if you bought it anyway

Nice idea, but the only thing I actually want is a frame only Fuji Track Elite, so falls outside of the scheme as it is not a full bike :-(

No, they are good bits for the track, sram omniums are good and stiff for racing (loads of the really really fast yank sprinters are switching to them), and the new wheelset they include is more than fine for training. The Prologo saddles are super comfy too.

At £900 its a steal, if they had the proper length cranks and stem, I'd race it as is.

i've read they are rebranded omniums, but i highly doubt they are

  • ok now i look closer they do look very similar

  • And buy a new fork. And a new stem cause the fitted one is too short.

Why would you need new forks? You could just as easily get a new stem and different cranks on here for a lot cheaper as well.

  • Because Guy is a tart. ;)

oh and if they change the forks they will probably put road ones on there rather than drilling the standard ones which will change the geometry.

  • I don't know if they'll let you get an incomplete bike, but the Spitalfields store has carbon Colnago framesets. Get one, flog it, buy what you like. Don't tell the company though, as it's technically there's until paid off (as you no doubt already know).

  • But I'd get this (not exactly high end wheels though). Brilliant frame, and 11 speed camag, so if you want to pimp it up to record. You can do so bit by bit.

I've got the 9 speed version of this on order for my c2w scheme at the moment, roll on end of April (since it probably won't be till then that I get it!)
