  • There's a shop at the campsite which sells matches and charcoal for barbecuing - and each pitch has a fire pit so you don't need a disposable BBQ - but I don't know what else it sells. The only problem with finding a shop is the nearest place with shops after you've got to the campsite is Ditchling and I don't know how well-equipped with beer Ditchling is (though I think there's a farm shop which probably sells cider), so the Somerfield at Lindfield on the way may be a safer bet.

    Unless you fancy riding over Ditchling Beacon to Brighton and back again. 'S only 8 miles...

    Perfect,a shop stop at the end of the ride down, coupled with emergency food and hipflask for the journey / if all else fails.
