• yea we allerm, got really important things to do, nothing to do with wanting to watch the rugby and being incredibly lazy, anyway, another spot up for grabs if anyone wants it.

    What the hell.

You are going to miss an pretty much ideal day of riding. Scattered clouds, a tailwind, about 10 degrees and really good company. I wish I were back on this ride and if my girlfriend weren't ill we'd be there in a second. What's worse is you'll be missing it to do something that may be dull and certainly could be done at a later date thanks to the miracles of readily accessible technology.

I still clearly remember my best ever bit of cycling and camping. We had cooked breakfast in a bike shop in Golden in British Columbia, rode through the crazy little town of Field and then up over a railtrack that spirals through the mountain to make a descent before camping in Lake Louise. After it was -2C overnight we rode up the Icefields Parkway (toll waived by a freindly warden because he thought cycling across Canada was a cool thing to try) to see the worlds bluest lake in the world before sipping coffee in shorts and Tshirt just a mile or so away from three massive glaciers and then made an very fast tailwind fed descent of the Kootenay Plains.

Adventures like that don't happen slouched in front of the telly and while I doubt anything quite as epic will happen this weekend, there's no way watching the rugby won't be shit in comparisson.

Thanks a lot, I'm now even more gutted that I won't be there. I hope your team takes a massive drubbing.
