  • i think project is an acceptable phrase.

Inception, Research, Planning, Sourcing, Assembly, Testing through to completion.

  • Its a quill stem.

With a white light right next to it, causing the confusion I reckon.

  • +1
'Project' is the one that really grates with me. You're assemling a fucking bicycle, often trying to do it exactly as has been assembled before, in the case of** 'period rebuilds' **(shudder).

But this is exactly what project is.
Chucking random parts together on a random frame, so you can go to work on Monday isn't.

  • Brutal pair of cunts

    Brutal? No. Cunt? Probably.

I just think the angle looks weird.

With a white light right next to it, causing the confusion I reckon.

He's probably talking about the height.

  • Fucking hold your horses here sunshine.
I'll accept bar abuse but thats where I draw the line.

did you nick it off a pashley?

  • hahah nice fucking handle bars, innovator. sorta. not. rest is pretty!!

  • is that a grobags roll up on your bike white flower?
if so, is it fitted correctly?

  • is that a grobags roll up on your bike white flower?

    Yes and Yes.

  • did you nick it off a pashley?

    You missing one like?

  • aren't they supposed to hang off the saddle rail? and not be strapped to the tube?

  • or are you using "out of the box bluesky thinking"?

  • aren't they supposed to hang off the saddle rail? and not be strapped to the tube?

Don't have the bits that a brooks does, so no.

It fits perfectly round the seat tube.

  • then, personally, i'd take it off. you've got a great looking bike, odd handlebars excepted, i'd keep it simple.
    /2p

  • Cheers mdcc. Would you know anything about the actual difference in quality between the 2?

Basically, I want something that will last a good while til I can get a Phil and does anyone know (edscoble) if Condor do price match?

  • Centaur is better than Veloce. Hence the price difference.

  • I haven't seen either in the flesh, but I suspect that the Veloce is a straight subcontract job from FAG, which would imply a forged axle, while the Centaur axle is likely to be made in house and the tapers will be machined flat. Bearings and seals are unlikely to be any different in quality, but I would expect the Centaur tapers to be more square and flat, which might be kinder to your cranks.

    A insightful observation ;) thanks!

Right I will be getting a Centaur

  • Or £14.25 post free from an actual shop

    Centaur £31.75

I bought a veloce for £11 from Condor not long ago...worth giving them a call.

  • You never know when you're going to need it. I was enjoying a leisurely ride back from the garage this morning when some bloke went past me on a mountain bike, and me with only 45/18 on.

Yeah, that's gotta suck! I think I'm just gonna leave the 52 on the front and put an 18 on the back. I'm probably not gonna ride the bike that much. Just build it sell it and start another project.

  • This is mine, nearly finished - just need a few little bits & a tweak or two... What do you think?

  • That Puch looks great!

    Nice one.

  • Yeah, that looks nice. Matching front wheel would finish it for me but it looks cool. Oh and some white straps

  • Thanks!

Yes, white straps are one of the things I'm yet to get. Can't really affort the matching front wheel atm but may get one in a couple of months, mismatch will have to do for now.

  • puchs are charming
