  • Saddles?

Selle Italia SLR and Selle Italia Flite have always been my two favourites, although I'm really loving the Fizik Arione at the moment.

Never got on with a Rolls or Charge Spoon. Ridden a Brooks Swift a couple times which was OK.
    Never tried a Turbo.

  • No complains there, but it's hard to find comfy saddle.

    Concor Supercorsa or Kashimax Aero

Had a San Marco ERGO a while back, well comfy but rockin horseshit

  • I quite like Concors, only ridden on one for 5 mins though.

    Kashimax Aero = pure evil.

  • Ergo is a win for sure.

  • I cant believe how much more comfy my new regal is than any other saddle I've tried.

  • I'm sure this doesn't really belong here since:
    a) its a new geared bike
    b) opening a box and putting the wheels, handle bars and seat post in place really doesn't count as a "project bike".
But fuck it, I'm so excited about this thing right now and my girlfriend just doesn't understand.

This lovely box was awaiting my return today. Have never been so excited to get back to Bahrain and the lovely dark little apartment work are putting me up in.

This think was very well packed, everything zip tied onto a thick card backing board, it really was like opening up a new Transformer as a kid.

    Not much assembly required...

...but still more than I can get done with my complete lack of tools. Got to wait for my CRC order to turn up with a some new cycle gear and tools, a bit wasteful but cheaper than flying back to the UK to dig the current stuff out of storage.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I've always loved these frames, crazy aluminium lugs and matching wicked carbon tubes.
    Details:
BMC Team Machine SLT 2009 in XL 61cm in Swiss Team colours
    Sram Force Groupset
Easton finishing kit (EA50 wheels, EA 90 Stem, EA70 bars, EC70 seat post)
    Speedplay Zero Pedals

  • Lust Lust Lust!

  • Nice one!! I really like it. Looks like a nice big size, too :D

  • sweet! how much did that set you back?*

*if you don't mind me asking..

  • Fcuking love BMC and what they produce.
And technically it is a current project.

  • Still an ongoing project.. upgraded most pasts to Campa, new cinelli stem + bar too. Just waiting for a new campa BB to arrive, so I can fit the Athena crankset and yes, I'm getting rid of those Vittoria Kevlar clinchers asap too.

  • Good to see I'm not the only BMC fan here.
Seems almost rude to say it but it only cost £1790 posted to my door, listed price is US$2299.00 reduced from $4600. Picked it up on sale from Competitive Cycles who brought all the US distributors stock to clear with 2009 Sram Force groupo.

They were amazing to deal with, got here (Bahrain) in less than 2 weeks despite some problems with my credit card company suspecting it was a fraudulent transaction. Cool think about Bahrain is that there is only 5% import duty, and I should be able to take it back to UK/Aus without having to pay any extra.
Just need the rest of the kit to turn up so I can go for a spin.

  • Looks lovely in the sunshine.. Makes me want to go for a ride

Nice one, buy a frame and get 2009 Force free, which is about what it's worth since SRAM killed it, and probably a good proportion of Red sales, with the 2010 Force group and its aggressive pricing. There's not much wrong with pre-2010 Force, but 2010 Force is basically Red for less than old Force. I expect the remaining 09 Force groups which hadn't already shipped out of Taiwan were melted down for scrap.

  • I'd kill for that BMC, lovely frames

Nice and shiny! Looks really good.

I 'finished' mine a week or 2 ago:

Be careful with the seatpost bolts though. Get yourself a torque wrench asap (if you haven't already got one)

  • ^Bladerunner, nice!

that was nice of them to label the seat stay for you.

  • Saddles?

I own SLR, but it can give me some discomfort.
I haven't tried Concor yet, but I like the look of it. If they are as comfy as Pisti says, then perhaps it's time to give it a go.

There's a reason why I don't ride much these days and it's a medical one. I'm waiting for the ultrasound. Here, now the whole world knows.

  • @islipaway

    Very jealous, beautiful bike.

  • ^Bladerunner, nice!

Chance Vought Corsair with gal even better?

  • @ islipaway,

Is that Brooks tape? If so is it the honey or brown one?

    Nice cranks.

    Nice cranks.

Very beautiful BJ. I am hopefully getting one in the next few days...

Where did you get the nitto post from, and how much (if you don't mind!)?

    Also, what cranks are they?

  • Chance Vought Corsair with gal even better?

    Shame its not in shot.

Glossy photos of girls on planes?
